Dr Apamumu completed his Masters in Medicine Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) in November 2013 at the School of Medicine Health Sciences, University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG), and has been a Specialist Consultant O&G since 2014. He worked at Kavieng Provincial Hospital, New Ireland Provincial Health Authority (PHA) 2014-2021 as the Specialist Consultant O&G and Head of O&G. In 2022 PNG National Department of Health employed Dr Apamumu as Senior Specialist Medical Officer (SSMO) O&G and PNG Deputy Chief O&G for New Guinea Islands (NGI) and transferred to Kokopo, East New Britain, where he assist with Clinical Duties at Rabaul Provincial Hospital, East New Britain PHA, and St Mary’s Hospital Vunapope under Catholic Church Health Services. Dr Apamumu had been occupying this position till present being employed by the PNG National Department of Health. Over 13 years now he has been involved in teaching undergraduates of all cadres of Health Care Workers in PNG, Resident Medical Officers (Interns), Resident Health Extension Officers, O&G Post-Graduate Diploma and Masters Trainees for UPNG besides his clinical duties, in addition to his National Health Department Duties as SSMO O&G and Deputy Chief.
