Dr. Ulai Tapa Fidow is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and serves as President of the Pacific Society for Reproductive Health. A PSRH member since 2013, Dr. Fidow brings a wealth of experience and passion for nurturing leadership in the Pacific region. His career has been both exciting and challenging, marked by key milestones such as his postgraduate training in Fiji, where he was mentored by influential figures in the field.

Dr Fidow has been instrumental in driving initiatives like the Pacific Maternal and Neonatal Training (PEMNeT) program, co-authoring its first manual, and playing a pivotal role in PSRH conferences as Chair of the Samoa Local Organising Committee for the 14th Biennial Scientific Meeting and Chef de Mission for the 15th BSM in Auckland. A dedicated advocate for collaborative regional work, Dr Fidow represents PSRH on the RANZCOG Global Health Committee and continues to serve as the focal contact for Samoa.

His leadership philosophy emphasises caring and supportive guidance, which he believes is essential for effective clinicians in the Pacific. Dr Fidow is committed to fostering the next generation of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) leaders, envisioning SRH as a core focus in national health strategies to achieve healthier Pacific populations and sustainable regional development.
