The Clinical Governance and Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) Subcommittee focuses on improving the quality of maternal and neonatal health services across Pacific Island Countries (PICs). By fostering accountability, data-driven decision-making, and quality improvement, this subcommittee seeks to reduce preventable deaths and improve health outcomes.

Vision and Objectives

The Clinical Governance/MPDSR Subcommittee is committed to:

  1. Establishing and strengthening MPDSR systems across PICs to identify and address preventable maternal and neonatal deaths.
  2. Promoting a culture of clinical excellence and accountability within health services.
  3. Supporting capacity-building initiatives to enhance skills in maternal and perinatal death audits and quality improvement processes.
