A comprehensive one and a half day workshop investigating gynae-oncology treatment. Presented by well-respected specialist Dr Ailing Tan, Dr Michael Burling, and Associate Professor Peter Sykes.
Associate Professor Dr Peter Sykes – studied in the United Kingdom before coming to New Zealand and completing his specialty training in New Zealand. Dr Sykes was the Head of Department at the University of Otago from 2009 until December 2015. He subsequently completed his sub-specialty training in gynaecological oncology in Melbourne and consults on gynaecological oncology and advanced preinvasive disease of the genital tract.
Dr Ai Ling Tan – Dr Ai Ling Tan trained in Australia, then completed her obstetrics and gynaecology specialist training at the National Women’s Hospital in Auckland, and then, Brighton Hospital in the United Kingdom. She underwent sub-specialty training in Gynaecological Oncology in Sydney and Melbourne and is currently a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in private practise in Auckland. She is also Chairwoman of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society and is focused on implementing a new Gynaecological Oncology training program for doctors from smaller nations of the Pacific.
